THE GIFF CERTIFICATE COURSE IN
INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT FORWARDING

This course presents a thorough and systematic coverage of Freight
Forwarding theory and practice. It covers the general freight forwarding
principles applicable in all modes of carriage viz, ocean, road, air,
rail etc The Certificate course is covered in 8 modules which are Basic
Management, Freight Forwarding and Logistics Management, Sea Transport,
Air transport, Rail /Road transport, Special transport, Insurance and
Multimodal transport
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The course is intended for aspiring middle and top managers in the
logistics industry. It is also suitable for those aspiring to enter the
freight forwarding profession.
The course will be open to:
· Lincentiate members of the Institute.
· Employees of freight forwarding firms with a minimum of 2 years
employment, possessing at least the SSSCE.
· . Employees of freight forwarding firms with a University degree or
diploma.
Individuals intending to embark on a freight forwarding career
with a University degree or diploma.
COURSE DURATION AND FORMAT
The course is in modular format. Classes will be held in the
evenings from 5pm to 8pm, twice a week
There will be an examination (Part 1) after the first three months..
Successful students will then be able to enter the 2nd part, also for
three months. On successful completion of all required modules, students
will be awarded the Giff Certificate in International Freight
Forwarding.
Those with the required practical experience will be eligible to apply
for FIATA certification after completing two more modules in Customs
procedures and Introduction to Management. For those who will require practical training,
arrangements can be made upon application to the Institute.,
The course will draw its participants from members of the Institute and
employees of Corporate members. Teaching methods are participative,
learner centered and collaborative. The program will draw on the rich
variety of experience which participants bring with them. A significant
proportion of participants will be expected to be employees of freight
forwarding firms who have been practitioners over the years.
Issues such as delays in Clearing & Forwarding items at major Custom
Stations will therefore be positively addressed during the course
Faculty
The course will draw on the rich experience of a core team of
lecturers who are all FIATA certified trainers in International Freight
Forwarding, as well as certified Custom brokers. Most of them are Chief
Executives of highly reputable Logistics Companies in Ghana.

Giff Members 400.00 Ghana Cedis Plus 100 for books
